What is Meetings Matter?

Meetings Matter is an international campaign between the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the Global Speakers Federation (GSF), to reinforce the message, that contrary to media and political backlash, Meetings Matter. Meetings develop leaders and a workforce ready to invent a profitable future for America and countries around the world and help drive a vibrant and productive economy.

Meetings Matter is the international speaking profession's contribution to the coalition efforts of meetings industry partners.

Past NSA and GSF President, Terry Paulson, CSP, CPAE, PhD, further explains why Meetings Matter in the video above. Click here to view additional videos about why Meetings Matter.

Why does this campaign matter?

This campaign matters because it is the international speaking community's effort to remind people of the true nature of meetings. Meetings are not frivolous like they've been portrayed to to be, they are vital to the education of workforces all over the world and generate over one million jobs in the United States alone.

Joe Calloway, CSP, CPAE, & Joe Malarkey, CSP, CPAE, give an intersting perspective on the state of the meetings industry.

"Meetings and Conferences Matter to me because they help sustain an educated and connected global workforce. It is imperative that we try to stop the trend of countries devaluing meetings and remind them that where there are meetings, knowledge is gained, revenue is generated and millions of jobs are maintained," Lindsay Adams, CSP, 2009-10 GSF President.

"It's amazing to me to see what happens when people come together at meetings. They start sharing ideas and challenging each other to grow their businesses. To me, Meetings Matter because meetings mean business," Phillip Van Hooser, CSP, CPAE, 2009-10 NSA President.
